Case Study

Boston Ferry

Alaska Diesel needed a higher performance heat exchanger for commercial fishing boat and large recreational boat generators. Niagara Thermal designed a unique intercooler incorporating copper nickel construction. This novel design uses sea water instead of air for cooling which improved performance while keeping the device small and compact, meeting Alaska Diesel's requirements perfectly.

Marine Uses

Niagara Thermal Products is a worldwide leader in the design, development and manufacture of cooling systems and key heat transfer components for the marine industry.

Successful Track Record

Niagara Thermal has been supplying intercoolers, aftercoolers, charge air coolers and complete engine cooling systems to the marine industry for the past nineteen years. Niagara Thermal cooling systems are currently incorporated on thousands of marinized engines installed on pleasure craft, ferries, military, work, and crew boats for companies such as:

  • Cummins Marine
  • Detroit Diesel
  • Alaska Diesel

Niagara Thermal's special design expertise has led to the development of many unique heat exchanger designs.
